The TASMAC administration has instructed liquor retail outlets not to sell alcohol to individuals under the age of 21. According to the statement issued by TASMAC, "As per Rule 11A of the Tamil Nadu Liquor Retail Shops and Bars Rules 2003, it is advised not to sell alcohol to persons under 21 years of age." TASMAC further stated that if there is any doubt about the age of a customer visiting the stores, they must verify valid age proof documents such as Aadhaar card or driving license and sell alcohol only to those above 21 years of age.
