In the Pudukottai district's Kandharvakkottai constituency, former AIADMK minister Subramanian, representing the DMK, has once again gained attention by winning with a margin of approximately 11,039 votes. N. Subramanian (57) hails from Nambampatti near Viralimalai in Pudukottai district. Subramanian, who was a member of the AIADMK, contested and won as an MLA from the Kulathur constituency in 2006 on behalf of the AIADMK. After the constituency was reorganized, the Kulathur constituency was removed, and Kandharvakkottai was declared a separate constituency. Trusted by Jayalalithaa, Subramanian was given the opportunity to contest from Kandharvakkottai on behalf of the DMK.

Notably, after coming under the control of former ADMK minister Vijayabaskar from Pudukkottai district, Subramanian was mostly sidelined. No significant responsibilities within the ADMK in the district were assigned to him, and he remained only as a branch secretary. In this situation, despite efforts to contest the 2016 and 2021 elections on behalf of the ADMK by requesting a seat, there was no success.
