அரசுத் தரப்பில் 72 சாட்சிகளாக விசாரித்தனர். சாட்சி விசாரணை மற்றும் அனைத்துத் தரப்பு வாதங்கள் நிறைவடைந்தன. இதுதொடர்பாக 270 பக்கங்கள் கொண்ட குற்ற பத்திரிகை தாக்கல் செய்யப்பட்டிருந்தது. இந்த வழக்கில் இன்று தீர்ப்பு வழங்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
குற்றச்சாட்டுகள் நிரூபிக்கப்பட்டிருப்பதால் கருப்பசாமி, காளீஸ்வரன், தவசி ஆகிய 3 பேரும் குற்றவாளிகள் என நீதிமன்றம் அறிவித்தது. மூன்று பேருக்கும் வாழ்நாள் சிறை தண்டனை வழங்கி நீதிபதி சுந்தர்ராஜன் தீர்ப்பளித்துள்ளார். அரசுத் தரப்பு வழக்கறிஞர் ஜிஷா செய்தியாளர்களிடம், “பாதிக்கப்பட்ட மாணவியும், ஆண் நண்பரும் 5 ஆண்டுகளாக காதலித்து வந்தனர்.
அன்றைய தினம் இயற்கை உபாதையை கழிக்க சென்றபோதுதான் அவர்கள் 2 பேரையும் தாக்கியுள்ளனர். பாதிக்கப்பட்ட பெண்ணுக்கு ரூ.7 லட்சம், அவரின் நண்பருக்கு ரூ.2 லட்சம் இழப்பீடு வழங்கி உத்தரவிடப்பட்டுள்ளது” என்றார். சம்பவம் நடைபெற்ற 126 நாள்களில் தீர்ப்பு வழங்கப்பட்டிருப்பது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.
