To retain control of the Mumbai Municipal Corporation at all costs, Uddhav Thackeray formed an alliance with the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena led by Raj Thackeray after 20 years. சிவசேனா(உத்தவ்) 65 இடங்களில் வெற்றி பெற்று இருக்கிறது. கடந்த தேர்தலில் 84 இடங்களில் வெற்றி பெற்றது. ராஜ் தாக்கரே தலைமையிலான நவநிர்மான் சேனாவும் எதிர்பார்த்த அளவு தேர்தலில் வெற்றி பெறவில்லை.
