The Mumbai High Court imposed a ban last July on serving food to birds in public places in Mumbai. They stated that feeding birds is related to their religion and protested against the ban. Facilities for feeding birds were available in many places in Mumbai. Because of this, the public was unable to serve food to the migrants there. Additionally, the municipal authorities fined those who violated the ban and gave food to the migrants. Despite that, the police registered cases and took action against those who provided food to the migrants in public places. Mumbai High Court Similarly, last August, the Makim police registered a case against Nitin, a businessman from the Dadar area of Mumbai. This case came up for hearing before Chief Justice Mishal. Nitin was accused of endangering public health by providing food to migrants in public places.

நிதின் மீது பொதுமக்களின் உடல் நலத்திற்கு ஆபத்தை ஏற்படுத்தும் விதமாக புறாக்களுக்கு பொது இடத்தில் உணவு கொடுத்தது, அரசு உத்தரவை மீறியது ஆகிய இரு குற்றச்சாட்டுகள் சுமத்தப்பட்டு இருந்தன.
இவ்வழக்கில் நீதிபதி தீர்ப்பளித்துள்ளார். தொழிலதிபர் மீது சுமத்தப்பட்ட இரண்டு குற்றச்சாட்டுகளும் நிரூபிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன.
நீதிபதி தனது உத்தரவில், ”உங்கள் செயல் மனித உயிருக்கும், ஆரோக்கியத்திற்கும் அல்லது பாதுகாப்புக்கும் ஆபத்தை ஏற்படுத்தியுள்ளதுடன், அரசாங்கத்தின் உத்தரவுகளையும் மீறியுள்ளது.

இவற்றை மூடிவிட்டு பொதுமக்களின் போராட்டத்தைத் தொடர்ந்து 4 இடங்களில் மட்டும் புதிதாக புறாக்களுக்கு உணவளிக்க மாநகராட்சி அனுமதி கொடுத்து இருக்கிறது.
