Tiruvallur: The death of a 3-year-old girl who was sexually assaulted in the Gummidipoondi area has caused a stir. In connection with this horrific incident, while one youth from a northern state has been arrested, workers from northern states staged a protest demanding the arrest of three more people.
In the Gummidipoondi SIPCOT area of Tiruvallur district, more than 300 factories are operating. At that time, it was discovered that the 3-year-old girl child had been sexually assaulted and thrown into a thorn bush. Following this, the parents rescued the injured child and took her to the Gummidipoondi Government Hospital for treatment. After receiving first aid there, the child was admitted to the Chennai Stanley Government Medical College Hospital for further treatment, but she died this morning despite treatment.
Regarding this, the Gummidipoondi SIPCOT police, who registered the case, have arrested a youth named Bipin Manji (19) from Bihar in connection with the child being sexually assaulted and dying.
Meanwhile, migrant workers from northern states staged a protest today in front of the Gummidipoondi SIPCOT police station, demanding that “the child was gang-raped by 4 migrant workers. Therefore, 3 more people should be arrested in connection with this incident.”
The police assured them that “a proper investigation will be conducted and action will be taken.” Later, the protest, which lasted for more than about 2 hours, came to an end.
