Thiruparankundram Issue: "Why light lamps at another place?" – Minister Sekar Babu's question
In Chennai today (Dec. 6), Hindu Religious Affairs Minister Sekar Babu spoke to journalists regarding the Thiruparankundram issue. "The DMK government respects the law. Not only that, it is also a government that protects the welfare of devotees. As far as this government is concerned, everyone is equal. Under DMK rule, there will be no division. Regarding the Thiruparankundram issue, the action taken by Chief Minister Stalin has been supported by everyone today except a few troublemakers. After lighting the lamp at the top of the Thiruparankundram Tiruvannamalai hill, can we accept lighting lamps at five more places? Similarly, after lighting a lamp at one place in Thiruparankundram, why light another lamp at a different place? 350 years ago, lamps were lit at the top of the hill in Tiruvannamalai. How would they accept it if lamps were lit in five other places instead? Something similar is happening in Thiruparankundram," he said.

திருவண்ணாமலை மலையின் உச்சியில் தீபம் ஏற்றிய பின், மேலும் 5 இடங்களில் தீபம் ஏற்றுவோம் என்றால் ஏற்க முடியுமா?
அதுபோல்தான் திருப்பரங்குன்றத்திலும் ஒரு இடத்தில் தீபம் ஏற்றிய பின் இன்னொரு இடத்தில் தீபம் எதற்கு?
350 ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன்பு திருவண்ணாமலையில் மலையின் உச்சத்தில் தீபம் ஏற்றுகிறார்கள்.
அதற்குப் பதிலாக வேறு ஐந்து இடத்தில் தீபம் ஏற்றினால் எப்படி ஏற்றுக்கொள்வார்கள்? அது போன்றதுதான் திருப்பரங்குன்றத்தில் நடைபெறுகிறது” என்று பேசியிருக்கிறார்.
