Puducherry: A person came to the DMK public meeting with a gun; police shocked – what happened?
Today, a DMK public meeting is being held at the Uppalam port area in Puducherry. Volunteers started arriving for the meeting from 7:30 this morning. The police screened them using metal detectors and QR code passes before allowing them in. While checking one of the attendees, the police found a gun in his possession. Seeing this, the police were shocked, and a commotion broke out at the site.
Upon questioning the individual, he claimed to have a license for the gun and showed it to the police. However, the police asked, "People from Tamil Nadu are not permitted in Puducherry. Why did you bring a gun to the public meeting?" Furthermore, the person was taken to the Othiyanjalai police station for further questioning.
During the interrogation, it was revealed that he was David from Kanyakumari district and a retired personnel from the Central CRPF. Additionally, David is currently working as the armed security guard for Dr. Prabhu, the East Sivaganga district secretary of the DMK. For Dr. Prabhu's security, the government has authorized two armed guards, one of whom is David. It was also found that David accompanied Dr. Prabhu for his protection when he came to the Puducherry public meeting.
