It is customary for Muslims to sacrifice animals during the Bakrid festival. Every year in Mumbai, Muslims traditionally sacrifice thousands of goats within their residential complexes. Muslims living in the Poonam residential complex on Mira Road in Mumbai had bought goats from the market and kept them there for sacrifice during the Bakrid festival.
