The leadership has fielded Kruthika as the BJP candidate for the Modakkurichi constituency in Erode district. Kruthika, the daughter-in-law of the sitting MLA of that constituency, Vaan Saraswathi, has seen alliance party members actively campaigning for her. There was an expectation until the last moment that Annamalai might contest from Modakkurichi on behalf of the BJP, but after prolonged deliberations, Kruthika was finally fielded. In the 2021 elections, Saraswathi defeated the DMK candidate in this constituency, paving the way for BJP's victory. Speaking to us about the background, BJP members from Erode district said, "Candidate Keerthika is not only the daughter-in-law of Modakkurichi MLA Saraswathi but also serves as the state secretary of the BJP's voluntary service wing. At the same time, since Saraswathi has the overall support in the constituency, there is a high chance that this support will transfer to her daughter-in-law. Keerthika is contesting on behalf of the DMK alliance, facing Senthil Nathan of MDMK and Shanmugam of T.V.K. In this three-way contest, Saraswathi's votes are expected to go directly to her. The alliance's support is also strong for her."
