The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, while examining the petition filed by the Tamil Nadu government against Rule 23 of the Electricity Department Legal Amendment 2024, expressed strong dissatisfaction regarding the free schemes of state governments. “இலவச மின்சாரத்தைத் தமிழ்நாடு உட்பட அனைத்து மாநிலங்களும் வழங்குகிறீர்கள். மின் கட்டணம் செலுத்த வசதி உள்ளவர்கள்கூட இந்த இலவசத்தைப் பெறுகிறார்கள். இந்தத் தொகையை மிச்சப்படுத்தி ஏழை மாணவர்களுக்காகப் பள்ளிகள் மற்றும் கல்லூரிகளைக் கட்டலாமே?”
3. இலவசங்கள் Vs உள்கட்டமைப்பு:
“இலவச ஸ்கூட்டி, இலவசப் பொருள்கள் என அனைத்தையும் இலவசமாகக் கொடுக்கிறீர்கள். அதற்குப் பதிலாகத் தரமான சாலைகளை அமைத்துக் கொடுத்தால் அது அனைவருக்குமே பயனுள்ளதாக இருக்குமே? நான் தமிழ்நாட்டை மட்டும் சொல்லவில்லை, வட இந்தியா, தென்னிந்தியா என நாடு முழுவதும் இதே நிலைதான்.”
4. உழைக்கும் ஆர்வம் குறைய வாய்ப்பு:
“சமூகநீதி என்ற பெயரில் மூன்று வேளை உணவு, பேருந்து பயணம், சைக்கிள், ஸ்கூட்டர் என அனைத்தையும் இலவசமாகக் கொடுத்துவிட்டால், பிறகு மக்கள் எதற்காக வேலைக்குச் செல்ல வேண்டும்? பல மாநிலங்கள் நிதிப் பற்றாக்குறையில் தவித்தாலும், தேர்தல் அரசியலுக்காக இதைப் பின்பற்றுகிறீர்கள்.”
5. தகுதியானவர்களுக்கு மட்டும் முன்னுரிமை:
“கல்விச் செலவை ஏற்க முடியாத குழந்தைகளுக்கு அரசு உதவுவது கடமை. ஆனால், வசதி படைத்தவர்களுக்கும் அந்த இலவசங்களைக் கொடுப்பது ஏன்? மாநில அரசுகள் தங்களது கொள்கைகளில் மாற்றங்களைச் செய்ய வேண்டியது காலத்தின் கட்டாயம்.”
என அடுக்கடுக்கான பல அதிரடி கருத்துகளை அவர்கள் தெரிவித்தனர்.
தமிழக அரசின் இந்த மனு குறித்து மத்திய அரசு பதிலளிக்க உத்தரவிட்டு அடுத்தகட்ட விசாரணையைத் தலைமை நீதிபதி அமர்வு தள்ளிவைத்தது.
