Conspiracy to break the sanitation workers' protest – K. Barathi fumes
In the Ambattur division, BJP's state secretary Karate Thiagarajan had filed a complaint with Chennai Corporation Commissioner Kumaragurubaran alleging corruption in the salary matters of sanitation workers. An interview with Karate Thiagarajan was published on the Vikatan platform yesterday (07.12.25). In it, he accused Ambattur DMK chairman Moorthy, division officer Prabhakaran, and LTUC leader Bharathi, who leads the sanitation workers' protest, of colluding to take commissions.

The sanitation workers have been protesting for over 100 days for their work. In Ambattur, even now, 4 sanitation workers have been on a hunger strike for over 20 days. We started our protest from Ambattur itself. They are making baseless false accusations to break this strong ongoing protest.
Municipal Commissioner Kumaragurubaran, Karate Thiagarajan, and Purushothaman of the BJP's trade union PMSS are together. They are people who can act in support of the Ramki company. It was Purushothaman who took the sanitation workers to have tea with the leader of the Workers' Rights Movement, K. Barathimuthalvar.
We challenge this. Municipal Commissioner Kumaragurubaran, we are ready to have a face-to-face debate with Karate Thiagarajan in a public place. Let's see which side has the justice," he said angrily.

மூர்த்தி தரப்பிலிருந்து எனக்கு ஒரு ரூபாய் வழங்கப்பட்டதாக ஆதாரம் இருந்தால் கூட நானே தூய்மைப் பணியாளர்களின் போராட்டத்தை கலைத்துவிட்டு செல்கிறேன். தூய்மைப் பணியாளர்கள் தங்களின் பணிக்காக 100 நாட்களுக்கு மேலாகப் போராடி வருகிறார்கள். அம்பத்தூரில் இப்போதும் 4 தூய்மைப் பணியாளர்கள் 20 நாட்களுக்கு மேலாக உண்ணாநிலை போராட்டத்தில் இருக்கிறார்கள். அம்பத்தூரிலிருந்துதான் எங்களின் போராட்டத்தையே தொடங்கினோம்.
வலுவாக நடந்துகொண்டிருக்கும் இந்தப் போராட்டத்தை உடைக்க வேண்டும் என்றுதான் அபாண்டமான பொய் குற்றச்சாட்டுகளை முன்வைக்கிறார்கள். மாநகராட்சி ஆணையர் குமரகுருபரன், கராத்தே தியாகராஜன், பாஜகவின் தொழிற்சங்கமான பிஎம்எஸ்ஸின் புருஷோத்தமன் ஆகிய மூவரும் கூட்டு. இவர்கள் ராம்கி நிறுவனத்துக்கு ஆதரவாக செயல்படக்கூடியவர்கள்.
முதல்வரிடம் தேநீர் அருந்த தூய்மைப் பணியாளர்களை அழைத்துச் சென்றதே அந்த புருஷோத்தமன்தான். நாங்கள் சவால் விடுகிறோம். மாநகராட்சி ஆணையர் குமரகுருபரன், கராத்தே தியாகராஜன் ஆகியோரோடு பொது இடத்தில் நேருக்கு நேர் விவாதிக்க நாங்கள் தயார். யார் பக்கம் நியாயம் இருக்கிறது என்பதை பார்த்துவிடுவோம்.’ என்றார் கொதிப்போடு.
