Senior DMK Minister K.N. Nehru has accused the municipal administration and drinking water supply department of corruption involving up to Rs. 1,020 crore and has sent a letter to the Tamil Nadu Chief Secretary and DGP requesting the registration of a case. Amidst the possibility of the case investigation continuing at any time, Minister K.N. Nehru stated on his Facebook page, "I will legally confront the 'tomorrow's complaint... today's baseless propaganda' launched by the AIADMK-BJP alliance targeting the enforcement department by hiding the achievements of my department. The enforcement department, along with every other department, is being targeted by opposition parties who cannot accept the achievements of the Dravidian model government, turning it into a department of the Union BJP government, and continuously engaging in baseless accusations against me is highly condemnable. In the past five years, 24,752 kilometers of roads have been laid under my department. Through the Tamil Nadu Water Supply and Drainage Board, protected drinking water supply schemes have been implemented for over 1.22 crore people to meet the rural population's drinking water needs. Additionally, protected schemes have been designed for over 77.28 lakh people, and work is progressing intensively. So far, 1,762 parks have been established in municipal corporations, municipalities, and town panchayats, including the recently inaugurated Kovai Semmozhi Park by the honorable Chief Minister! Just as Chennai is known for the Tholkappiyar Park, Kovai is known for the Semmozhi Park, and the people have long demanded parks suitable for their leisure, but neither the AIADMK government nor the BJP-ruled states have done this like the Dravidian model government in Tamil Nadu. We have changed that situation and ensured the safety of the people during all kinds of rain and floods—no matter how many times water was released in Semparambakkam—saving the people of Chennai from the sufferings of rain and floods without any loss. In this regard, only this Dravidian model government has carried out rainwater drainage canal works over a distance of 1519 kilometers in the Chennai metropolitan area alone. The achievements of this government have overshadowed the claims of the AIADMK-BJP alliance, which has taken a new form for the assembly elections and cannot accept the accomplishments of Modi and Amit Shah. Especially, these achievements greatly intimidate the BJP members. They are blocking union funds and using the governor to create obstacles.
We are campaigning without agencies. Yet, there is frustration that achievements are being made! Therefore, they are obsessing over what to eat to clear the bile. Hence, agencies like the Enforcement Department are being discarded. The Union BJP government is using the Enforcement Department to carry out the political campaign it should be conducting. The Enforcement Department, created as an autonomous body, has today become a subsidiary organization of the BJP. The High Court quashed the case filed against my brother in 2013 based on a loan, stating "no crime was committed." On that basis, the first FIR registered by the Enforcement Department has already been quashed by the High Court's Division Bench.
However, if the Union BJP government insists on repeatedly involving the enforcement department in propaganda, they should not be afraid of me! The achievements of this department! Wherever the minister Neeru enters and inspects within my department, the response is always "achievement-achievement-achievement." But to the eyes of the Union BJP government, which provokes the enforcement department, these appear as baseless complaints! They are being incited to engage in intense politics. Those who are envious cannot respond to the achievements of my department, which are praised by the people. But there is one thing I want to state clearly.
The primary tasks are to provide protected drinking water to the people as per the jurisdiction of my municipalities and the drinking water supply administration, to complete rainwater drainage works, and to establish excellent parks! Complete achievements! I hereby state that I will legally confront any other accusations made against me. We, who have come to serve the people, will not be intimidated by the baseless propaganda campaigns fueled by the Union BJP government, nor by the false and twisted allegations spread by the administrative department or the AIADMK-BJP alliance.

எப்போது வேண்டுமானாலும் வழக்கு விசாரணை தொடரப்படும் என்ற சூழலில், அமைச்சர் கே.என்.நேரு தன் எக்ஸ் பக்கத்தில், “எனது துறையின் சாதனைகளை மறைத்து `அதிமுக- பா.ஜ.க’ கூட்டணி அமலாக்கத்துறையை ஏவிவிட்டு நடத்தும் `நாளொரு புகார்… பொழுதொரு அவதூறுப் பிரச்சாரத்தை’ சட்டப்படி எதிர்கொள்வேன்.
ஒவ்வொரு துறையிலும் திராவிட மாடல் அரசின் சாதனைகளை பொறுத்துக் கொள்ள முடியாத எதிர்க்கட்சிகளின் வரிசையில் அமலாக்கத்துறையையும் சேர்ந்து கொண்டு- அதை ஒன்றிய பா.ஜ.க. அரசின் ஏவல் துறையாக்கி- நாளொரு புகாரும், பொழுதொரு பிரச்சாரமுமாக என்னைக் குறி வைத்து தொடர்ந்து அவதூறில் ஈடுபட்டு வருவது மிகுந்த கண்டனத்திற்குரியது.
கடந்த ஐந்து வருடங்களில் எனது துறையின் கீழ் 24 ஆயிரத்து 752 கிலோ மீட்டர் சாலைகள் போடப்பட்டுள்ளன. கிராமப்புற மக்களின் குடிநீர் தேவையை பூர்த்தி செய்யும் வகையில் தமிழ்நாடு குடிநீர் வடிகால் வாரியத்தின் மூலம் 1 கோடியே 22 லட்சத்திற்கும் மேற்பட்டோருக்கு பாதுகாக்கப்பட்ட குடிநீர் வழங்கும் திட்டங்கள் செயல்படுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளன. இன்னும் 77 லட்சத்து 28 ஆயிரத்திற்கும் மேற்பட்ட மக்களுக்கு பாதுகாப்புத் திட்டங்கள் வடிவமைக்கப்பட்டு பணிகள் தீவிரமாக நடைபெற்று வருகின்றன.
மாநகராட்சி, நகராட்சி, பேரூராட்சிகள் என இதுவரை 1762 பூங்காக்கள் அமைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது- அதில் ஒன்று சமீபத்தில் மாண்புமிகு முதலமைச்சர் அவர்களால் திறந்து வைக்கப்பட்ட கோவை செம்மொழிப் பூங்கா! சென்னை என்றால் தொல்காப்பிய பூங்கா, கோவை என்றால் செம்மொழிப் பூங்கா என்பதோடு மக்கள் கண்டுகளிக்க- தங்களது பொழுது போக்கிற்கு ஏற்ற பூங்காக்களை திராவிட மாடல் அரசு போல் தமிழ்நாட்டில் அதிமுக அரசும் செய்யவில்லை. மற்ற மாநிலங்களில் உள்ள பா.ஜ.க. ஆளும் அரசுகளும் செய்யவில்லை.
அதனால்தான் எனது துறையின் திராவிட மாடல் வளர்ச்சி எதிர்கட்சிகளின் கண்ணை உறுத்துவதை விட அமலாக்கத்துறையின் கண்களையும் உறுத்துகிறது. பேருந்து நிலையங்கள் என்று எடுத்துக் கொண்டால் இதுவரை 158 பேருந்து நிலையங்கள் மாநிலம் முழுவதும் அமைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. மக்களின் அன்றாடப் பயணத்திற்கு மட்டுமல்ல- அத்தியாவசியப் போக்குவரத்து தேவைக்கான அடிப்படை வசதிகளை உருவாக்குவதில் எனது துறை வரலாற்று சிறப்பு மிக்க சாதனைகளைச் செய்திருக்கிறது.
மாநிலத்தின் பல்வேறு பகுதிகளிலும் கடந்த ஐந்தாண்டுகளில் மாற்றும் அளவிற்கு வெள்ளத் தடுப்பு பணிகளை மேற்கொண்டிருக்கிறோம். சென்னையில் அதிமுக ஆட்சியில் சாலைகளும்- சப்வேக்களும் ஒரு மழைக்கே வெள்ளக்காடாக காட்சியளித்ததை அனைவரும் அறிவர். ஆனால் இன்று சென்னையில் உள்ள சப்வேக்களில் தண்ணீர் தேங்காத நிலையை உருவாக்கியிருக்கிறோம்.
செம்பரம்பாக்கம் என்றாலே அதிமுக ஆட்சிதான் நினைவுக்கு வரும்! அந்த நிலையை மாற்றி எத்தகைய மழை வெள்ளத்திலும்- எத்தனை முறை செம்பரம்பாக்கத்தில் தண்ணீர் திறந்தாலும் மக்களின் பாதுகாப்பை உறுதி செய்து- இன்னலின்றி மழை வெள்ளத் துயரங்களில் இருந்து சென்னை மக்களை காப்பாற்றியிருக்கிறோம். அந்த வகையில் சென்னை மாநகாராட்சியில் மட்டும் 1519 கிலோ மீட்டர் தொலைவிற்கு மழைநீர் கால்வாய் பணிகளை செய்துள்ள அரசு இந்த திராவிட மாடல் அரசு மட்டும்தான்.
இந்த சாதனைகளை பொறுத்துக் கொள்ள முடியாத –சட்டமன்றத் தேர்தலுக்கு புதிய அவதாரம் எடுத்துள்ள அதிமுக- பா.ஜ.க. கூட்டணி கட்சியினரின் தூக்கத்தை இந்த அரசின் சாதனைகள் கலைத்து விட்டன. குறிப்பாக பா.ஜ.க.வினரை இந்த சாதனைகள் ரொம்பவே மிரட்டுகிறது. ஒன்றிய நிதியை முடக்குகிறோம். ஆளுநரை வைத்து முட்டுக்கட்டை போடுகிறோம். ஏஜென்ஸிகளை விட்டு பிரச்சாரம் செய்கிறோம். ஆனாலும் சாதனைகள் செய்கிறார்களே என்ற எரிச்சல்!
எனவே எதைத் தின்னால் பித்தம் தெளியும் என திண்டாடுகிறார்கள். ஆகவே அமலாக்கத்துறை போன்ற ஏஜென்ஸிகளை ஏவி விடுகிறார்கள். ஒன்றிய பா.ஜ.க. அரசு செய்ய வேண்டிய அரசியல் பிரச்சாரத்தை அமலாக்கத்துறையையே வைத்து செய்கிறார்கள். தன்னாட்சி மிக்க அமைப்பு என உருவாக்கப்பட்ட அமலாக்கத்துறை இன்று பா.ஜ.க.வின் துணை அமைப்பாக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறது.
என் சகோதரர் மீது 2013ல் வாங்கிய கடனை வைத்து போடப்பட்ட வழக்கை உயர்நீதிமன்றம் “எந்த குற்றமும் நடக்கவில்லை” என ரத்து செய்து விட்டது. அதன் அடிப்படையில் அமலாக்கத்துறை பதிவு செய்த முதல் தகவல் அறிக்கையை ஏற்கனவே உயர்நீதிமன்றத்தின் டிவிஷன் பெஞ்சும் ரத்து செய்து விட்டது. ஆனாலும் அமலாக்கத்துறையை மீண்டும் மீண்டும் பிரச்சாரத்தில் ஈடுபடச் சொல்லி ஒன்றிய பா.ஜ.க. அரசு நிர்பந்திக்கிறது என்றால்- அவர்களுக்குப் பயம் நானல்ல! இந்த துறை செய்துள்ள சாதனைகள்!
எனது துறைக்குள் எங்கு நுழைந்து பார்த்தாலும்- எங்கும் “சாதனை- சாதனை- சாதனை” என்றுதான் எதிரொலிக்கும். ஆனால் அதுவே ஒன்றிய பா.ஜ.க. அரசு தூண்டிவிடும் அமலாக்கத்துறையின் கண்களுக்கு ஆதாரமற்ற புகார்களாகத் தெரிகிறது! அப்பட்டமான அரசியல் செய்யத் தூண்டிவிடப்படுகிறது. மக்கள் போற்றும் எனது துறையின் சாதனைகளைப் பார்த்து வெதும்புவர்களுக்கு பதில் சொல்ல முடியாது.
ஆனால் ஒன்று மட்டும் நான் தெளிவாகக் கூறிக் கொள்ள விரும்புகிறேன். எனது நகராட்சிகள் மற்றும் குடிநீர் வழங்குதல் நிர்வாகத்துறையைப் பொறுத்தமட்டில் பாதுகாக்கப்பட்ட குடிநீர் மக்களுக்கு வழங்குதல், மழை நீர் வடிகால் பணிகளை நிறைவேற்றுதல், தலை சிறந்த பூங்காக்களை அமைத்தல் ஆகியவையே முதன்மையான பணிகள்! முழுமையான சாதனைகள்!
மற்றபடி என் மீது சொல்லப்படும் குற்றச்சாட்டுகளை சட்டப்படி எதிர்கொள்வேன் என்பதை தெரிவித்துக் கொள்கிறேன். மக்கள் பணியாற்ற வந்துள்ள நாங்கள் ஒன்றிய பா.ஜ.க. அரசின் தூண்டுதலில் அரசியல் பிரச்சாரத்தில் ஈடுபடும் அமலாக்கத்துறைக்கோ- அல்லது “அதிமுக- பா.ஜ.க.” கூட்டணியினர் “பொய்யையும், புரட்டையும்” மட்டுமே மூலதனமாக வைத்து ஈடுபடும் அவதூறுப் பிரச்சாரத்திற்கோ அஞ்சமாட்டோம்.!” எனக் குறிப்பிட்டிருக்கிறார்.
