MDMK General Secretary Vaiko is set to undertake an 'Equality Walk' from Tiruchirappalli to Madurai (from January 2 to 12). Chief Minister Stalin will inaugurate this journey. In this context, Vaiko conducted interviews with volunteers from districts under the Tirunelveli division who are participating in this walk. The interview took place in Kalingapatty, Tenkasi district. Vaiko asked many questions such as, "Do you smoke, drink alcohol, or have a habit of using intoxicants? Will you walk continuously for 10 days? If you get blisters on your feet, will you endure it? Will your parents give their consent for you to undertake this walk?" இந்த நிலையில், திருநெல்வேலி மண்டலத்துக்கு உட்பட்ட மாவட்டங்களில் இருந்து இந்த பயணத்தில் பங்கேற்க உள்ள தொண்டர்களிடம் வைகோ நேர்காணல் நடத்தினார். தென்காசி மாவட்டம் கலிங்கப்பட்டியில் இந்த நேர்காணல் நடைபெற்றது. ‘‘உங்களுக்கு புகை பிடித்தல், மது அருந்துதல், போதை பொருட்கள் பழக்கம் உள்ளதா? 10 நாட்கள் தொடர்ந்து நடப்பீர்களா? காலில் கொப்புளம் வந்தால் தாங்கிக் கொள்வீர்களா? நீங்கள் நடைபயணம் மேற்கொள்ள அப்பா-அம்மா ஒப்புதல் தருவார்களா?’’ என பல கேள்விகளைக் கேட்டு, தொண்டர்களை வைகோ தேர்வு செய்தார்.
