Humanitarian leader Muthamizh Ansaari, who was in the Makkal Katchi, contested the 2011 Assembly elections as part of the opposition alliance in the Chepakkam-Thiruvallikeni constituency but was defeated. In 2015, he left that party and started the Manithaneya Jananayaga Katchi (MJK). In the 2016 Assembly elections, contesting as part of the opposition alliance in the Nagapattinam constituency, he won. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, after allying with the BJP, he left the opposition alliance. Since then, in the 2021 Assembly elections, the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, and the upcoming 2026 Assembly elections, Muthamizh Ansaari will be contesting as part of the DMK alliance. மனிதநேய மக்கள் கட்சியில் இருந்த மு.தமிமுன் அன்சாரி, 2011 சட்டப்பேரவை தேர்தலில் அதிமுக கூட்டணியில் சேப்பாக்கம்-திருவல்லிக்கேணி தொகுதியில் போட்டியிட்டு தோல்வியை தழுவினார். 2015-ல் அந்த கட்சியில் இருந்து விலகி மனிதநேய ஜனநாயக கட்சியை (மஜக) தொடங்கிய தமிமுன் அன்சாரி, 2016 சட்டப்பேரவை தேர்தலில் அதிமுக கூட்டணியில் நாகப்பட்டினம் தொகுதியில் போட்டியிட்டு வெற்றி பெற்றார்.
