In the country, the tuberculosis incidence rate has decreased by about 23 percent over the past 10 years, Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda said.
A high-level meeting was held via video conference on Friday under the chairmanship of Union Minister J.P. Nadda. Health ministers and senior officials from states and Union Territories participated in the meeting.
The meeting was held to review the progress of the “TB-Free India” campaign and to plan the next steps toward achieving the goal of a tuberculosis-free India.
Speaking on this, J.P. Nadda said, “India has made remarkable progress in the fight against tuberculosis. In 2014, 243 people per one lakh population were found to be affected by tuberculosis in the country, whereas in 2024, 187 people per one lakh population were found to be affected by tuberculosis. Through this, the tuberculosis incidence rate in the country has decreased by about 23 percent over 10 years.
In 2014, 34 people per one lakh population died of tuberculosis, while in 2024, 21 people per one lakh population died of tuberculosis. Through this, the number of people who died of tuberculosis in the country has also decreased over 10 years.
To MPs and MLAs...: State governments should continue to urge their MPs and MLAs to review tuberculosis eradication measures in their constituencies. With the aim of identifying gaps in tuberculosis eradication efforts and correcting them in a timely manner, state health ministers should conduct district-level analyses.
This initiative will achieve true success only when all districts, states, and Union Territories in the country are free of tuberculosis,’ he said.

இதில் ஜெ.பி.நட்டா பேசுகையில், ‘காசநோய்க்கு எதிரான போராட்டத்தில் இந்திய மிகச் சிறந்த முன்னேற்றத்தை எட்டியுள்ளது. கடந்த 2014-ஆம் ஆண்டு நாட்டில் ஒரு லட்சம் பேரில் 243 பேருக்கு காசநோய் பாதிப்பு கண்டறியப்பட்ட நிலையில், 2024-ஆம் ஆண்டு ஒரு லட்சம் பேரில் 187 பேருக்கு காசநோய் பாதிப்பு கண்டறியப்பட்டது. இதன்மூலம், நாட்டில் 10 ஆண்டுகளில் காசநோய் பாதிப்பு விகிதிம் சுமாா் 23 சதவீதம் குறைந்தது.

எம்.பி., எம்எல்ஏக்களிடம்…: தங்கள் தொகுதிகளில் காசநோய் ஒழிப்பு நடவடிக்கைகளை ஆய்வு செய்யுமாறு தமது எம்.பி., எம்எல்ஏக்களிடம் மாநில அரசுகள் தொடா்ந்து வலியுறுத்த வேண்டும். காசநோய் ஒழிப்பு நடவடிக்கைகளில் உள்ள இடைவெளிகளை கண்டறிந்து, அதை உரிய காலத்தில் சரி செய்யும் நோக்கில், மாநில சுகாதார அமைச்சா்கள் மாவட்ட அளவில் பகுப்பாய்வுகளை மேற்கொள்ள வேண்டும்.
நாட்டில் உள்ள அனைத்து மாவட்டங்கள், மாநிலங்கள், யூனியன் பிரதேசங்களில் காசநோய் இல்லாதபோதுதான், இந்த நடவடிக்கை உண்மையான வெற்றியடையும்’ என்று தெரிவித்தாா்.
