Prime Minister Modi has said that under the Prime Minister’s Viksit Bharat Employment Scheme (PM-VBROY), around 70 lakh people have so far been provided employment in the country.
The Prime Minister’s Viksit Bharat Employment Scheme was launched in August last year to help first-time job seekers in the country and to expand the social security net across various sectors.
Under this scheme, with the aim of helping create 15 lakh jobs in the country, Prime Minister Modi on Friday released Rs. 2,400 crore as an incentive through direct transfer into the bank accounts of eligible beneficiaries.
Speaking at this event held in New Delhi, Prime Minister Modi said:
Under the Prime Minister’s Viksit Bharat Employment Scheme, around 70 lakh new jobs have been created in the country so far. In addition, 70 lakh people who entered employment for the first time have been brought under the social security net.
Under this scheme, 20 lakh young people have completed six months in their first jobs. Around 10 lakh beneficiaries have already received the incentive amount.
This is not merely financial assistance. It reflects the nation’s recognition of the hard work of young people and the confidence the nation has in their future.
Employment generation gains momentum when the government, industry, and youth work together. This scheme reflects a new India in which opportunities are created for young people, industry is encouraged, and employment generation becomes a national aspiration.
Many schemes focus on either the employer or the job seeker. But the special feature of this scheme is that it focuses on both.
He said that the Central Government stands by young people as they begin their professional journey, while also encouraging companies that create new employment opportunities.
The Ministry of Labour and Employment live-streamed this event at 200 locations across the country.
