Chennai Corporation officials said that the resolutions of the municipal council meeting will be sent to all legislative assembly members, including those from the ruling party, and invitations will be extended to them.
There are 16 assembly constituencies directly within Chennai district. In addition, the wards of the Chennai Corporation fall within 6 assembly constituencies. In the Chennai Corporation, DMK members hold all positions, including the Mayor and Deputy Mayor.
