Former minister and AIADMK whip Agri S.S. Krishnamoorthy alleged that C.V. Shanmugam was the reason for the AIADMK’s defeat in Villupuram district.
Speaking to reporters in Tiruvannamalai on Monday, he said:
C.V. Shanmugam should realize that no one, from the AIADMK leadership down to the grassroots workers, has acted in support of the DMK. Even at the meeting held in Madurantakam on Sunday, TVK minister Aadhav Arjuna made the false claim that the AIADMK had tried to form a government together with the DMK. Aadhav Arjuna is engaging in horse-trading and recruiting people. Correct your mistake; otherwise, the true AIADMK workers will rise in anger.
Who is responsible?
It was AIADMK general secretary Edappadi Palaniswami who brought the Pattali Makkal Katchi, a strong party in the northern districts, into the alliance.
In the Assembly election, only C.V. Shanmugam won in Villupuram district. The general secretary announced as candidates only those recommended by him. None of them won.
C.V. Shanmugam is the reason for AIADMK’s defeat in Villupuram district. He and his elder brother Radhakrishnan have been acting like petty kings.
The posts of AIADMK organizational secretary, Rajya Sabha member, and minister were all gifts bestowed by General Secretary Palaniswami. C.V. Shanmugam should speak with restraint. The entire Viluppuram district has now been rejuvenated. Unable to tolerate the fact that the district has slipped out of his hands, he has been spreading unnecessary rumors. He should mend his ways.
He said that only after personally inviting and seeking the views of the administrators of all constituencies in Tamil Nadu would an AIADMK executive committee meeting or general council meeting be held.

சட்டப்பேரவைத் தோ்தலில் விழுப்புரம் மாவட்டத்தில் சி.வி.சண்முகம் மட்டுமே வெற்றி பெற்றாா். அவா் பரிந்துரை செய்தவா்களை தான் பொதுச்செயலா் வேட்பாளா்களாக அறிவித்தாா். அவா்கள் யாரும் வெற்றி பெறவில்லை.
