Since the establishment of TVK rule in Tamil Nadu, many members of other parties have been joining TVK. Vijayadharani joins: Vijayadharani, who had been the Congress MLA for the Vilavancode constituency in Kanyakumari district, resigned from her MLA post in 2024 and joined the BJP. Subsequently, in the 2026 Assembly election that was held and concluded, she contested from the Vilavancode constituency on behalf of the BJP and was pushed to third place.
