School Education, Tamil Development, Information and Publicity Minister A. Rajmohan told reporters that censorship by the Tamil Development Department is mandatory for videos created using artificial intelligence (AI).
After the opening ceremony of the government exhibition at Coimbatore’s V.O.C. Park, School Education Minister Rajmohan, speaking to reporters, explained that the errors in the artificial intelligence (AI) videos released for the Singappen project were due to a technical glitch. Going forward, any videos, graphics, or audio created using artificial intelligence must be released only after proper review and consultation by the Tamil Development Department. He also said that all pending Tamil Development Department awards will be presented soon, in consultation with the Chief Minister. The minister urged government bus staff to treat senior Tamil scholars and students with greater kindness.
Since the procedures for licensing and renewing private schools have been simplified through a single-window system, schools do not need to pay any bribes. Instead, private schools should transparently disclose their fee details and charge only reasonable fees, he advised.
He also emphasized that since the government pays most of the fees for students studying under the Right to Education Act, schools must extend full cooperation to fully implement this scheme.
Condolence
The minister expressed deep condolences over the incident in which government school students lost their lives in an accident near Mannargudi, and said that intensive measures will be taken in coordination with the police and volunteers to avoid traffic congestion around schools.
He noted that the quality and safety certificates of private school buses are being continuously monitored, and said that special transport facilities have been arranged for students from remote and hilly areas. He also stated that schools have been permitted to open in the current academic year only after ensuring that all government schools have safe toilets and drinking water facilities.
Speaking about the welfare of journalists, he noted that accreditation cards for media personnel are being issued in an orderly manner without any political interference, and that the work of providing house-site pattas for journalists is progressing rapidly.
No change in the bilingual policy
He firmly stated that there is no change in the state's bilingual policy, and said that Tamil, the mother tongue, is essential for speaking with family at home, while English is necessary for connecting with the world. The minister clarified that English-medium education will not be imposed on anyone, and said that Tamil is their very breath, and that the very foundation of the government is the philosophy of 'All lives are equal at birth.'
At the opening ceremony of the exhibition, ministers Rajmohan and Sampathkumar distributed welfare assistance, e-pattas, and medical equipment worth about Rs. 4 crore to beneficiaries from various sections.
The minister, condemning the reported incident in which a boy was allegedly expelled from the exhibition complex, said that officials have been strictly instructed to treat everyone equally, regardless of their background.
