The U.S. military carried out an attack on the Palau-flagged oil tanker Chettabello, which was carrying Iranian oil in the Gulf of Oman, on the 9th of last month.

Indian Shipping Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has now said on his X account that “all three of them have died.”

Unfortunately, of the three Indian sailors who were initially reported missing, it has now been confirmed that all three have died, following the recovery of two bodies.
This is a huge loss for our maritime family. In this difficult moment, the Modi government stands firmly with the affected families.
It is fully committed to providing all necessary assistance to their close relatives.
I have instructed the authorities to take the necessary steps to immediately bring back the rescued personnel to the homeland and to quickly bring the bodies of those who lost their lives for their funeral rites." he posted.
