Neelakanthan – நீலகாந்தன்

Neelakanthan literally means “blue-throated one.” It is a traditional epithet of Lord Shiva, who — according to Hindu tradition — swallowed poison during the churning of the ocean, turning his throat blue to save the world. The name suggests qualities of strength, sacrifice, and protective care.
