During election times, if you go to AIADMK stages, you will see many M.G.R.s there. தேர்தல் நேரங்களில் அதிமுக மேடைகள் என்றால் அங்கே நிறைய எம்.ஜி.ஆர் களைப் பார்த்திருப்பீர்கள். எம்.ஜி.ஆர் போலவே தொப்பி, கண்ணாடி அணிந்து அவரைப் போலவே நடந்து பாட்டுப் பாடி ஆடி இரட்டை இலைக்கு ஓட்டுக் கேட்பார்கள் அவர்கள்.
‘இவர்களெல்லாம் யார்’ என விசாரிக்கக் கிளம்பிய போதுதான் அமரன் எம்.ஜி.ஆர் நம் கண்ணில் சிக்கினார்.

சினிமாவுல எம்.ஜி.ஆர் ஒருத்தர்தான் இப்படி செய்வார். அவருடைய நிறையப் படங்கள்ல நான் நடிச்சிருக்கேன்னு சொன்ன அந்த ஆர்ட்டிஸ்ட், ‘நீங்க ஒரு சாயலுக்கு எம்.ஜி.ஆர் மாதிரியே இருக்கீங்க. கருப்பு கண்ணாடியும் தொப்பியும் மட்டும் வாங்கி மாட்டுங்க, நீங்களும் எம்.ஜி.ஆர்.தான்’னு சொன்னார்.
பக்கத்துல இருந்த என் நண்பன் அன்னைக்கு சாயங்காலமே எங்கோ இருந்து தொப்பி, கண்ணாடி வாங்கிட்டு வந்துட்டான்.
மறுநாள் கோயம்புத்தூர்ல நாங்க தங்கியிருந்த லாட்ஜை விட்டு அந்தக் கண்ணாடி, தொப்பி ரெண்டை மட்டும் மாட்டிகிட்டு வேஷ்டி சட்டை கூட இல்லாம ஜீன்ஸ் பேன்ட்லதான் வெளியில வந்தேன். அவ்வளவு கூட்டம். எனக்கே சிலிர்த்திடுச்சு. ஒரு மனுஷன் மறைந்து பல வருஷமாகியும் அவருடைய அடையாளத்தைப் பார்த்தாலே பக்கத்துல வர்றாங்கன்னா, எத்தகைய ஒரு வாழ்க்கையை வாழ்ந்து போயிருக்கார்னு நினைச்சப்ப இந்த அடையாளத்து மேல எனக்குத் தனி மரியாதை வந்திடுச்சு.

இப்ப சென்னை வந்ததும் நேரா அவங்க வீட்டுக்குதான் போனேன். அங்க போனா அவங்க வீட்டுல இருந்த அந்த தொப்பி, கண்ணாடி ரெண்டையும் எங்கிட்ட கொடுத்து, `தலைவர் ஞாபகமாக இருக்கட்டும்னு வச்சிருந்தார் என் கணவர். ஆனா இது எங்ககிட்ட இருக்கிறத விட உங்க கிட்ட இருந்தா காலத்துக்கும் பத்திரமா இருக்கும்னு தோணுச்சு. அதனால எடுத்துக்கோங்க’னு சொல்லித் தந்துட்டார்.
