In Nilgiris, which consists of three separate assembly constituencies—Ooty, Coonoor, and Gudalur—the election campaign has begun to heat up. The district-level leaders of various parties, including DMK and AIADMK, insisted that the Ooty assembly constituency, the district headquarters of Nilgiris, should be contested directly by these parties rather than being allocated to alliance partners. Despite much opposition, the main parties have allotted the Ooty constituency to alliance partners. In Kothagiri and Adavele, the election campaign in Nilgiris district is notably centered around Kothagiri, drawing significant attention.
K.M. Raju, the district secretary from Kothagiri, is contesting as the DMK candidate for the Coonoor assembly constituency. In the Coonoor constituency, Santhi Ramu from Kothagiri is contesting on behalf of the ADMK. At the same time, Uyilatti Ramachandran is the Congress candidate for the Ooty constituency, Ittakkal Bhojaraj is the BJP candidate for the Ooty constituency, and the Naam Tamilar candidate for the Coonoor constituency are also from Kothagiri, which is noteworthy.

அதேவேளையில் இந்த தேர்தலில் நீலகிரி மாவட்டத்தைப் பொறுத்தவரை தேர்தல் களம் கோத்தகிரியை மையம் கொண்டிருப்பது கவனத்தை ஈர்த்து வருகிறது. குன்னூர் சட்டமன்றத் தொகுதி தி.மு.க வேட்பாளராக கோத்தகிரியைச் சேர்ந்த மாவட்ட செயலாளர் கே.எம். ராஜூ களம் காண்கிறார். குன்னூர் தொகுதியில் அ.தி.மு.க தரப்பில் கோத்தகிரியைச் சேர்ந்த சாந்தி ராமு களமிறங்கியிருக்கிறார்.
அதேவேளையில் ஊட்டி தொகுதி காங்கிரஸ் கட்சி வேட்பாளராக உயிலட்டி ராமச்சந்திரன், ஊட்டி தொகுதி பா.ஜ.க வேட்பாளராக இட்டக்கல் போஜராஜ், குன்னூர் தொகுதி நாம் தமிழர் வேட்பாளர் ஆகியோரும் கோத்தகிரியைச் சேர்ந்தவர்கள் என்பது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.
