தமிழகத்தில் சட்டப்பேரவைத் தேர்தல் நடக்கவிருப்பதை ஒட்டி தேர்தல் நடத்தை விதிகள் அமலுக்கு வந்துள்ளன.
தேர்தலில் மக்களுக்குப் பண விநியோகம் நடப்பதைத் தடுக்கும் நோக்கத்தில் பணப் பரிவர்த்தனைகளை தீவிரமாகக் கண்காணித்துவருகிறது தேர்தல் ஆணையம்.

“ஐம்பதாயிரம் ரூபாய் என்று தீர்மானித்தபோது ஒரு டீயின் விலை 5 ரூபாய். இன்றைக்கு நான்கு மடங்கு கூடியிருக்கிறது. இதைச் சொல்லித்தான் உச்ச வரம்பை குறைந்தபட்சம் ஒரு லட்சமாவது உயர்த்துங்கள் என்று தேர்தல் தேதி அறிவிப்பு வருவதற்கு இரண்டு மாதத்திற்கு முன்னாடியே தலைமைத் தேர்தல் ஆணையரைச் சந்தித்து மனு கொடுத்தோம்.
டெல்லிக்கு அனுப்பி வைக்கிறோம், அங்கிருந்து பதில் வந்ததும் அறிவிக்கிறோம் என்று சொன்னார்கள். இதுவரை எந்த அறிவிப்பும் வரவில்லை. ஒவ்வொரு தேர்தலின்போதும் வியாபாரிகள் படும் பாடு மாறவே இல்லை. இரண்டு நாள் முன்னாடி வள்ளியூர் பக்கம் ஆடு அறுத்துத் தர வந்தவர்களிடம் பணத்தைப் பறிமுதல் செய்திருக்கிறார்கள். உடனே உள்ளூர் ஆட்கள் திரண்டு, நாங்கள் கொடுத்த பணம் அது என்று சொல்லி போராட்டம் நடத்துவோம் என்று சொன்னதும் விட்டுப் போய்விட்டார்கள்.
சின்னச் சின்ன வியாபாரிகள், கூலி வேலை செய்பவர்களையெல்லாம் மடக்கி பணம் இருக்கிறதா என்று கேட்கிறார்களே, இவர்களா ஓட்டுக்குப் பணம் தருவதற்கு கொண்டுபோகிறார்கள்?
“தேர்தல் நடத்துகிற அதிகாரிகள் யதார்த்தத்தைப் புரிந்துகொண்டு நடந்துகொள்ள மறுக்கிறார்கள். வியாபாரிகள் காய்கறி வாங்க கோயம்பேடு வந்தால் மார்க்கெட்டுக்கு எதிரில் நின்று சோதனை போடுகிறார்கள். டாஸ்மாக் பக்கத்தில் போய் நின்றுகொண்டு குடித்திருக்கிறாயா என்று கேப்பார்களே, அதே நடைமுறையைத்தான் பின்பற்றிக்கொண்டிருக்கிறார்கள்.
அவர்களுக்குக் கணக்கு காட்ட வேண்டும் என்று இருக்கிறதா என்று தெரியவில்லை. ஆனால் போகின்ற வருகின்ற அப்பாவி வியாபாரிகளைப் பிடித்து அவர்கள் வயிற்றில் ஏன் அடிக்கிறார்கள் என்று தெரியவில்லை.
சரி, பறிமுதல் செய்கிறார்கள். ஆனால் அந்தப் பணம் தேர்தலுக்குப் பிறகு யாரிடமிருந்து பறிமுதல் செய்தார்களோ அவர்களுக்கே திரும்பக் கிடைத்துவிடுகிறதா என்ற கேள்விக்கும் பதில் இல்லை.
கடந்த கால தேர்தல்களின்போது இப்படிக் கைப்பற்றிய பணத்திற்கு ஏதாவது கணக்கு இருக்கிறதா என்று கேட்டால் யாரிடமும் பதில் இல்லை. கலெக்டர் ஆபீஸ் சென்றால் ஆர்டிஓவைப் பார்க்கச் சொல்கிறார்கள், அங்கே சென்றால் தாசில்தாரைப் பார்க்கச் சொல்கிறார்கள் என்று அலைக்கழிக்கிறார்கள்.
இதையெல்லாம் கண்டித்துத்தான் 31-ம் தேதி போராட்டம் நடத்தலாம் என்று அனுமதி கேட்டிருக்கிறோம். அனுமதி கிடைக்குமா என்று பார்க்க வேண்டும். இல்லாவிட்டாலும் போராட்டம் செய்தே ஆகவேண்டும் என்கிற மனநிலையில்தான் வியாபாரிகள் இருக்கிறார்கள்.” என்கிறார் இவர்.!
