முதல் தேர்தல் முடிவே இப்படி ஆனதிலேயே, வைகோவை நம்பி திமுகவிலிருந்து வெளியேறிய பலரும் சோர்வடைந்துபோனார்கள்.
அடுத்து நடந்த 2001 தேர்தலிலும் தனித்தே போட்டி. இந்த முறையும் கட்சியின் சார்பாக எவரும் சட்டசபைக்குள் செல்லவில்லை.
2006-ல்தான் அதிமுக கூட்டணியில் தனிச் சின்னத்தில் நின்று 6 இடங்களில் வென்று முதல்முறையாக சட்டசபைக்குச் சென்றது.
2011 தேர்தலில் அதிமுகவுக்கு தேமுதிக கிடைத்து விட்டதால், மதிமுகவின் சீட்டுகளை ஜெயலலிதா குறைக்க, தேர்தலை புறக்கணிப்பதாக அறிவித்தார் வைகோ. ஆக அப்போதும் யாரும் எம்.எல்.ஏ ஆகவில்லை.
தொடர்ந்து 2016ல் விஜயகாந்தை முதல்வர் வேட்பாளராக ஏற்று தேர்தலைச் சந்தித்தார் வைகோ. மதிமுக தொண்டர்கள் பலர் அன்றே கட்சியிலிருந்து வெளியேறியதும் நடந்தது. மக்கள் நலக் கூட்டணி எனப் பெயரிடப் பட்டிருந்த அன்றைய கூட்டணியை மொத்தமாக புறக்கணித்தனர் தமிழக மக்கள். ஆக அந்த தேர்தலிலும் மதிமுககாரர்களால் சட்டசபை செல்ல முடியவில்லை.
எங்க ஆளுங்கதான், ஆனா திமுக எம்.எல்.ஏ!
தொடர்ந்து 2021 தேர்தல் வந்தது. அதிமுகவில் ஜெயலலிதா இல்லாத நிலையில், ஸ்டாலினின் கரத்தை வலுப்படுத்துவோம் என திமுகவுடன் கூட்டு சேர்ந்தார் வைகோ. ஆனால் கட்சியை உடைத்துச் சென்றவர் சுமார் முப்பது ஆண்டுகள் கழித்து வந்தும், பழசை மறக்கவில்லை போலும் — “ஆறு சீட்டு வரை தருகிறோம், ஆனால் உதயசூரியனில்தான் நிற்க வேண்டும்” என்று கறாராக இருந்து சாதித்தார் ஸ்டாலின்.
“மாப்பிள்ளை அவர்தான், அவர் போட்டிருக்கிற சட்டை என்னுடையது” என்ற பஞ்சுடன் ஒப்பிடலாம் — “அவங்க எங்க ஆளுங்கதான், ஆனா திமுக எம்.எல்.ஏ” என்ற நிலை உருவானது. கடந்த 16-வது சட்டசபையிலும் மதிமுகவுக்கு என அதிகாரப்பூர்வமாக பிரதிநிதிகள் இல்லை.
காரணம் யாரு?
அடுத்து 17-வது சட்டசபைக்கான தேர்தலும் வந்துவிட்டது. கடந்த தேர்தலோடு ஒப்பிட்டால் ஸ்டாலின் கொஞ்சம் பெருந்தன்மையுடன் நடந்துகொண்டிருக்கிறார் என்றுதான் சொல்ல வேண்டும். “கடந்த முறை வென்ற 4 இடங்களைத் தருகிறோம்” என்றவர், கட்சி அங்கீகாரம் என்று கேட்டதாலோ என்னவோ, “அதில் ஒரு சீட்டு வேண்டுமெனில் தனிச் சின்னத்தில் நின்றுகொள்ளுங்கள்” என்று சொல்லிவிட்டாரே! திமுகவினரைக் கேட்டால், அதுதான் தளபதியின் பெருந்தன்மை என்பார்கள்.
கட்சி தொடங்கி 10 ஆண்டுகள் கழித்தே அதிமுக தயவால் சட்டசபைக்குள் நுழைந்தது மதிமுக. அதற்கடுத்ததாக மேலும் 20 ஆண்டுகள் கழித்தே, தற்போது தனிச் சின்னத்தில் நிற்கும் வேட்பாளர் வென்றால் அவர் மதிமுகப் பிரதிநிதியாகச் செல்ல வாய்ப்புள்ளது.
இத்தனைக்கும் தேர்தல் நேரம் இல்லாத மற்ற நேரங்களிலெல்லாம் திமுகவுக்காக அப்படியொரு ஆதரவு கொடுப்பவர் வைகோ. “அதெல்லாம் இப்போது பார்க்க முடியாது. தேர்தல் என்று வந்துவிட்டால் சீட்டுதான் முக்கியம். நேற்று வரை நம்மை யார் என்ன திட்டினார்கள் என்று பார்த்துக்கொண்டிருந்தால் வேலைக்கு ஆகாது” என்று சாதாரணமாகக் கடந்துவிடுகிறது திமுக.
மதிமுகவின் இன்றைய இந்த நிலைக்குக் காரணம்?
முரண்பாடுகளின் மொத்த உருவம்!
வைகோவின் முடிவெடுக்கும் திறனை மட்டுமே குறிப்பிட வேண்டியிருக்கிறது. முதல் இரண்டு தேர்தல்களைத் தனித்து எதிர்கொண்டார், வேலைக்கு ஆகவில்லை… கூட்டு சேரலாம். ஆனால் யாருடன், எந்தச் சந்தர்ப்பத்தில் சேர்வது என்பது முக்கியமில்லையா? 19 மாதங்கள் சிறைக்கு அனுப்பிய ஜெயலலிதாவுடன், சிறையிலிருந்து வந்த இரண்டே ஆண்டுகளில் கூட்டு சேர்ந்தார். வைகோவின் இந்த நிலைப்பாடு நடுநிலை வாக்காளர்கள் மத்தியிலேயே “என்னய்யா இந்த மனுஷன்” என்று பரிகாசப்படவே வைத்தது. விளைவு, அந்தத் தேர்தலில் இவர் சார்ந்திருந்த அதிமுக அணிக்குத் தோல்விதான் கிடைத்தது.
அடுத்தத் தேர்தலுக்கு வருவோம். விஜயகாந்தின் வருகையால் சீட்டு குறைக்கப்பட்டது. அதிமுக தயவால்தான் நம் கட்சி சட்டசபைக்குச் சென்றது என்பதை நினைத்துப்பார்த்து கொஞ்சம் அனுசரித்துப் போயிருந்தால், அந்தத் தேர்தலிலும் சில மதிமுக வேட்பாளர்கள் சட்டசபைக்குள் போயிருக்கலாம். கடைசி நேரத்தில் தேர்தல் புறக்கணிப்பு நடத்தி அதைக் கெடுத்துக்கொண்டதும் அவரே.
