மாற்றுத்திறனாளிகள் தங்களுக்கான மாத உதவித்தொகையை உயர்த்தி வழங்க வேண்டுமென அரசிடம் கோரிக்கை வைத்து 5 நாட்களாக போராடி வருகின்றனர். நேற்று காலை சிவானந்தம் சாலையில் கூடிய 1000 க்கும் அதிகமான மாற்றுத்திறனாளிகள் கோட்டையை நோக்கி பேரணியாக சென்று முதல்வரிடம் மனு கொடுக்க திட்டமிட்டிருந்தனர்.

இரவு 11:30 மணியளவில் கம்யூனிஸ்ட் எம்.எல்.ஏக்கள் நாகை மாலியும் சின்னதுரையும் சம்பவ இடத்துக்கு வந்தனர். அவர்கள் வந்த பிறகே நம்மையும் உள்ளே அனுமதித்தனர். மின் விளக்கு கூட அணைத்து வைக்கப்பட்டிருக்கு இருளில் நடு இரவிலும் போராடும் மாற்றுத்திறனாளிகளை பார்த்து ஆறுதல் கூறிய எம்.எல்.ஏக்கள் ‘என்னய்யா காவல்துறை இவ்வளவு அட்ராசிட்டி பண்றாங்க’ என புலம்பினர்.
அங்கிருந்தபடியே தலைமைச் செயலாளர் முருகானந்தம், சென்னை கலெக்டர், லோக்கல் எம்.எல்.ஏக்கள், மந்திரிக்கள் என பலருக்கும் போனில் முயற்சி செய்து பார்த்தனர். யாரும் லைனுக்கு வரவில்லை.

அதிகாரிகளும் திமுகவின் அமைச்சர்களும் லைனுக்கு வராததால் நாகை மாலியும் சின்னதுரையும் தங்கள் கட்சியின் முக்கியஸ்தர்கள் சிலருடன் பேசினர். பின்னர் காவல்துறையிடம் இவர்களையெல்லாம் ஒரே இடத்தில் தங்க வைக்கவாது ஏற்பாடு செய்து கொடுங்கள் என்றனர். அதற்கும் காவல்துறை இறங்கி வரவில்லை. ‘சென்னைக்குள்ள இப்போலாம் மண்டபம் கிடைக்குறதே இல்ல. ஒரு தடவை மண்டபம் கொடுத்தவங்க, திரும்ப கொடுக்க மாட்றாங்க. போராடுறவங்க எதையாவது உடைச்சு வச்சிட்டு வந்துடுறாங்க. அதனாலயே மண்டபக்காரங்க பயப்படுறாங்க. அதுவும் இந்நேரத்துக்கு மண்டபம்லாம் சான்ஸே இல்ல. இவங்களை கலைஞ்சு போயிட்டு நாளைக்கு வந்து போராட சொல்லுங்க’ என்றனர்.
கம்யூன்ஸ்ட்டுகள் தங்களின் அலுவலங்கள் எதிலும் இவர்களை தங்க வைக்க முடியுமா என சில நிமிடங்கள் கலந்தாலோசித்தனர். ஆனால், 1000 க்கும் மேற்பட்டோரை தங்க வைக்கும் வசதி இல்லாததால் மீண்டும் காவல்துறையிடம் எம்.எல்.ஏக்கள் கலந்தாலோசித்தனர். இறுதியாக இறங்கி வந்த காவல்துறை, ‘1500 பேரும் இருக்குற அளவுக்கு இடம்னா கோயம்பேடு பஸ் ஸ்டாண்டுக்குதான் போகணும். வேணும்னா பஸ் ஸ்டாண்டுல தங்க சொல்லுங்க. கூட்டிட்டு போக பஸ்ஸூ நாங்க ஏற்பாடு பண்றோம்’ என்றனர்.
கையைப் பிசைந்த கம்யூ எம்.எல்.ஏக்கள் வேறு வழியில்லாமல் இந்த ஐடியாவுக்கு ஒத்துக்கொண்டனர். போராடிய மாற்றுத்திறனாளிகளிடம் போய் விஷயத்தை கூறினர். ஆனால், அவர்கள் இதை ஏற்கவில்லை. ‘இப்படித்தான் சாயங்காலம் மண்டபத்திற்கு அழைத்து செல்கிறோம் என்றனர். கொஞ்ச நேரத்துக்கு முன்பாகக் கூட சைதாப்பேட்டை, கிண்டி, அரும்பாக்கத்தில் மண்டபம் கிடைத்துவிட்டது அங்கே போகலாம் என்றனர். மாற்றி மாற்றிப் பேசி எங்களை ஏமாற்றுகின்றனர். இவர்களை நம்ப முடியாது. நடுத்தெருவில் இறக்கிவிடப்பட்ட எங்களின் ஆட்களை இங்கே அழைத்து வரச் சொல்லுங்கள். நாங்கள் இங்கேயே போராடுகிறோம்’ என்றனர் உறுதியாக. ‘சரி தொடர்ந்து போராடுங்கள்’ என கம்யூ எம்.எல்.ஏக்களும் செய்வதறியாது கிளம்ப தயாராகினர்.
அவர்களிடம் ‘ஐயா நீங்க இவ்வளவு நேரம் இங்க பேச்சுவார்த்தை நடத்துனீங்க. என்னாச்சுன்னு செய்திக்காக சொல்லிட்டு போங்க’ என்றேன். இருவருமே எதுவும் பேசாமல் மௌனமாக கடந்து சென்றனர்.
எம்.எல்.ஏக்கள் கிளம்பிய அடுத்த சில நிமிடங்களில் மைதானத்துக்குள் வந்த 30 க்கும் மேற்பட்ட காவல்துறையினர் புகைப்படம் எடுத்துக் கொண்டிருந்த நம்மை அப்படியே பிடித்து காம்பவுண்ட்டுக்கு வெளியே தள்ளி கேட்டை பூட்டினர்.
பேருந்தை வர வைத்து ஒன்றாக அமர்ந்திருந்த மாற்றுத்திறனாளிகளை குண்டுக்கட்டாக தரதரவென இழுத்து பேருந்தில் ஏற்றி அடைத்தனர். ‘ஏம்மா…நீ என்ன ரொம்ப பண்ற ஒழுங்கா பஸ்ல ஏறிடு இல்லன்னா…’ என பெண் மாற்றுத்திறனாளிகளை ஒருமையில் பேசி அதட்டி பேருந்துக்குள் அள்ளிப் போட்டனர். பேருந்துக்குள்ளும் 10 க்கும் மேற்பட்ட காவல்துறையினர் ஏறிவிட்டனர். பேருந்து காம்பவுண்டை விட்டு வெளியேறுகையிலேயே நெருக்கடியில் கூச்சல் குழப்பம் ஏற்பட்டு விட்டது. நம்மிடம் பேசிய அந்த சங்கத்தின் பொதுச்செயலாளர் ஜான்சி ராணி பேருந்துக்குள்ளேயே மயக்கம் போட்டார். ‘பஸ்ஸை நிறுத்துங்க…பஸ்ஸை நிறுத்துங்க…’ என கூச்சல் போட்டும் பஸ்ஸை நிறுத்ததால் சில மாற்றுத்திறனாளிகள் பேருந்தின் சாவியை உருவி டிரைவரின் கையைப் பிடித்து இழுத்து வண்டியை நிறுத்தினர்.
‘ஏன் சார்…எங்களை இவ்வளவு கொடுமைப்படுத்துறீங்க’ என மாற்றுத்திறனாளிகள் கதற ஜான்சி ராணியை ஆம்புலன்சில் ஏற்றிவிட்டனர். ஆத்திரத்தில் பேசிய மாற்றுத்திறனாளிகளிடம் பதிலுக்கு முண்டிக் கொண்டு வாக்குவாதம் செய்த காவல்துறையினர் ‘முதல்ல கதவ மூடுய்யா..’ என டிரைவரை அதட்டி பஸ்ஸை கிளப்ப வைத்தனர்.

‘சென்னைக்கு நடுவுல முடியாத மக்கள் மேல ஈவு இரக்கம் கூட இல்லாம இப்படி காட்டுமிராண்டித்தனமா அராஜகம் பண்றாங்களே…’ என்ற மாற்றுத்திறனாளிகளின் குரல் மட்டும் பேருந்து கிளம்பிய பிறகும் ஒலித்துக் கொண்டே இருந்தது.
