Ahead of the 2026 assembly elections, the Election Commission has allotted the whistle symbol to Vijay's TVK party. TVK Vijay launched the Tamil Nadu Victory Party on February 2, 2024. Vijay has been holding conferences in districts like Vikravandi and Madurai and is preparing to face the 2026 elections. Unrecognized parties must apply to the Election Commission to be allotted a common symbol for their party. They must also submit a list of preferred symbols. The Election Commission has specific rules regarding the allocation of election symbols to parties. TVK Vijay will be allotted symbols by the Election Commission according to those rules. Among the symbols for the TVK faction is the auto rickshaw.
Football, cricket bat, and whistle symbols were submitted to the Election Commission as optional symbols. From these, the Election Commission has now reserved the whistle symbol for the Taveka.
