இந்தச் சாக்கடை தண்ணீரைக் குடித்து 5 மாத குழந்தை கூட உயிரிழந்த கொடூரம் நடந்துள்ளது.
இந்தூரில் சாக்கடை தண்ணீரால் பாதிக்கப்பட்ட பகுதியில் வசிப்பவர் சுனில். கூரியர் கம்பெனியில் வேலை செய்து வந்த இவருக்கு கடந்த 5 மாதத்திற்கு முன்பு ஆண் குழந்தை பிறந்திருந்தது. அவ்யான் என்ற அக்குழந்தையின் தாயாருக்கு உடல் நலம் பாதிக்கப்பட்டு இருந்ததால் தாய்ப்பால் சுரங்கவில்லை. இதையடுத்து டாக்டரின் ஆலோசனையின் பேரில் பாக்கெட் பாலில் சிறிது தண்ணீர் கலந்து குழந்தைக்குக் கொடுத்து வந்தனர். ஆனால் குழந்தைக்கு எந்தவித நோயும் இல்லை.
திடீரென குழந்தைக்குக் காய்ச்சலும், பேதியும் ஏற்பட்டன. டாக்டரிடம் கூட்டிச்சென்று மருந்து கொடுத்தனர். ஆனாலும் குழந்தையின் உடல்நிலை தொடர்ந்து மோசமடைந்தது. காலையில் குழந்தையை மருத்துவமனைக்குக் கொண்டு சென்றபோது பரிதாபமாக இறந்து போனது.
சாக்கடை கலந்த குடிநீரை பாலில் கலந்ததால்தான் குழந்தை இறந்ததாக பெற்றோர் குற்றம் சாட்டினர்.
இது குறித்து குழந்தையின் தந்தை சுனில் கூறுகையில், ”கடவுள் பத்து வருடங்களுக்குப் பிறகு எங்களுக்கு மகிழ்ச்சியைக் கொடுத்தார். பின்னர் அதைக் கடவுள் எடுத்துக்கொண்டார். தண்ணீர் அசுத்தமாகிவிட்டதாக யாரும் சொல்லவில்லை. தண்ணீர் அசுத்தமாகும் என்று எங்களுக்குத் தெரியாது. டாக்டர் சொன்னதால்தான் பாலில் தண்ணீர் கலந்து கொடுத்தோம்” என்று தெரிவித்தார்.
இதற்கிடையே இறந்தவர்கள் குடும்பத்திற்குத் தலா ரூ.2 லட்சம் வழங்கப்படும் என்று மாநில முதல்வர் மோகன் தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.
