In Dindigul district, along the banks of the Vaigai River passing through Anaipatti, there is a famous Anjaneya Temple. Many rituals, such as offering Tithi, are conducted extensively in this temple. As a sacred place, more than a hundred devotees perform Tithi offerings daily in the nearby Vaigai River, and it is customary for them to leave their clothes in the river after bathing. Because of this, a large amount of clothing accumulates along the riverbank, making it very dirty. Moreover, waste and plastic garbage from the eateries around the temple are also being dumped directly into the river.
It was reported that devotees bathing there were experiencing skin-related problems. The sanitation workers who cleaned the river brought this to the attention of Nilakkottai Regional Development Officer Manickam, and with his explanation, we published a news article on the Vikatan website on 10-12-2025. Dindigul: 'Clothes and waste released into the Vaigai river; risk of skin diseases' - public fear. In response to this, within three days of the news being published, Dindigul District Collector Saravanan personally visited and conducted an inspection of the river.
Immediately, the cleaning staff carried out the task of cleaning the river. Near the river, five large garbage bins were placed along the riverbank to prevent devotees from throwing their clothes into the river. இது தொடர்பாக நிலக்கோட்டை வட்டார வளர்ச்சி அலுவலர் மாணிக்கத்தின் கவனத்திற்கு கொண்டு சென்று அவருடைய விளக்கத்துடன் 10-12-2025 தேதி அன்று விகடன் இணையதளத்தில் செய்தி வெளியிட்டிருந்தோம்.

மீண்டும் பக்தர்கள் தனது உடைகளை ஆற்றில் விடாதபடி ஆற்றின் ஓரத்திலேயே ஐந்து பெரிய குப்பை தொட்டிகளை வைத்தனர். நமது செய்தியை அடுத்து ஆய்வு மேற்கொண்டு ஆற்றின் அவலநிலையை போக்கிய மாவட்ட ஆட்சியர் அவர்களுக்கு விகடனின் நன்றிகள்.!
