What is it that makes watching a thriller film thrilling and gripping? This is deeply and shockingly explored in the novel 'Padupatsi' written by Diluxan Mohan from Sri Lanka. This fictional yet historical 'auto-bi-fiction' novel talks about the dream of a Tamil youth who wanted to create Sri Lanka's first airplane and the pain of that dream shattering like a dry leaf. With the book launch event scheduled to take place today in Chennai, we spoke with the author Diluxan Mohan.
Where did you start 'Padupatsi'? – It began from the place where my life and dreams were rejected, where my pain kept tormenting me, and where my curiosity first started asking questions. I, as a Tamilian, could not bear the rejection of a country for the sole reason of being Tamil. Through what happened to me, I tried to tell the world what happened to the Tamils.
