Recently, after an increased awareness of health, the word 'green tea' is frequently mentioned by people. We paid special attention to the famous Ooty tea factory located in the high-altitude area of Totapettai in Nilgiris. அண்மைக்காலமாக உடல் நலன் மீது விழிப்புணர்வு அதிகரித்த பிறகு மக்கள் அடிக்கடி உச்சரிக்கும் சொல் ‘கிரீன் டீ’. பால் சேர்த்து காபி, தேநீர் குடிப்பவர்கள்கூட, ‘நான் கிரீன் டீக்கு மாறிட்டேன்…’ என்று சொல்லும் அளவுக்கு ‘கிரீன் டீ’ குறித்த விழிப்புணர்வு பலருக்கும் ஏற்பட்டிருக்கிறது. அதே வரிசையில் இப்போது அதிகம் பிரபலம் அடையத் தொடங்கியிருப்பது ‘வொயிட் டீ’. வொயிட் டீ குறித்தும் அதில் உள்ள நலக்கூறுகளைப் பற்றியும், அதன் வரலாறு குறித்தும் தெரிந்துகொண்ட பின்பு, நீலகரி மாவட்டத்தில் உள்ள பல்வேறு தேயிலைத் தோட்டங்களைப் பார்வையிட்டோம்.
