Chennai: The TET exam for teacher eligibility began yesterday. About 1 lakh candidates participated in the first paper. The candidates said the exam was easy. The second paper exam will be held today. According to the Right to Free and Compulsory Education Act, all types of schools require candidates to pass the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) to be eligible for middle and high school teacher positions. This exam consists of two papers. Those who pass the first paper can work as middle school teachers, and those who pass the second paper can work as high school teachers. In Tamil Nadu, the TET exam is conducted through the Teacher Recruitment Board (TRB). However, the TET exam has not been conducted for the past two years.
